Career history:

Glasgow born and bred, Paul Carnan set up his own legal practice in the city centre in 1987, dealing principally with property and business issues. He is a former Dean of the Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow. He was a member of the Law Society of Scotland’s Property Law Committee from 1992 until 2017. He is the current Chair of the Glasgow Conveyancers Forum, which exists to develop the practice of conveyancing in West Central Scotland. He tutors in Property Law and Conveyancing at the University of Glasgow. He is a past Director of The Merchants House of Glasgow. Paul is the current Deacon of the Incorporation of Gardeners of Glasgow. Paul is also Clerk to a number of charitable institutions: the North Parish Washing Green Society; the Association of Deacons, and the Incorporation of Barbers in Glasgow. He is the Secretary of the Saints & Sinners Club of Scotland and of the Weavers Society of Anderston. He also sits as a Justice of the Peace.

 

Paul enjoys amateur dramatics and golf. He is a member of Glasgow Light Opera Club and a former President of Harlequin Eastwood Theatre for Youth. He plays golf (energetically, rather than well) at Pollok Golf Club, where he is a past Captain, and at the New Club, St. Andrews.
